Default New Here....Intro and have a few questions!

I currently have a 97 hatch that im looking to clean up its looks. I use this car as my commuter and so I want to fix a few things. Here are my questions:

- How do I find out what color the car is. Its red however Im not sure if its roma red???

- Idle seems to be very rough. Ive changed plugs and checked the rotor cap, everything looked fine. I just cant stand the shaking...any help?

- i bought the car lowered however the springs are really bouncy. What lowering springs would you recommend for a comfortable ride.

Thanks in advance

paint code is in the door jam i believe on the drivers side

and if your car is bouncing then you might want to check to see if you still have the stock struts in there stiffer struts would help keep you from bouncing around.

There should be a letter/number combination on the inside of the driver door.

Are you getting any check engine lights? Have you checked the idle adjustment screw? How rough is the idle?

What is your budget?

I had a rough idle once. My engine would shake and vibrate pretty bad and RPMs would be erratic at idle. It ended up being too much engine oil. It was only a couple milimeters above the max line of dipstick too. I drained some of the oil and problem solved.

I do have the check engine light on. I believe its one of the O2 sensors according to the previous owner. Im not sure if this is what is causing the vibration but im looking to replace this soon.

As for the budget, I'm trying to stay cheap since its just my commuter and my 00 M5 is the one that gets to put holes in my wallet. I've thought of picking up used struts w/ low mileage and then throwing on new springs.

Color Code:
R-97-4
This is what was in the door jam

That could be the problem, possibly. Look here to make sure it's not something else. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1901557

Do you know what kind of springs you have? I suggest some Tokico Blue shocks (OEM replacement) and maybe some H&R springs.

Are you able to jack up the car and take a picture? If you can do that, we can help you identify them.
