Type-R diffrences compared to GSR
I know there is a link out there to a great page that shows all the places the Type-R is re-enforced etc. and goes into all of the other diffrences. So can someone help me out???
RebornGSR<---who is having a dicussion with someone about if a highly modded GSR will be the same thing as a higly modded Type-R and needs some visual aids to help his case.

Thats the one
But is there anything else I am forgetting? Because all other diffrences I can think of can be changed(such as suspension and internals)

somehow i have to disagree with that statement unless you mean both cars have the exact same mods fitted, then its true.

I do think thats what he means though in saying it will never be the same.
The most major difference is the dash light for the Speedo and the clock is amber in the R and white in the gsr. Also, the type R has big wing in case you want "highly mod" and convert to rear wheel.

If both Integras (GS-R vs. ITR) have roll-cages to eliminate ITR's better structure rigidity, then a GS-R, LS, RS can be equally good or better than a typeR in engine and suspension department.
However, structural rigidity can't be cured without lots of $$$. There's no way you can add thicker wheel well, lower-arm bracket, etc unless you spend a fortune on custom welding and fabrication. And, of course, we're not talking about just adding larger sway/strut bars.
In highly modded form ($$$ in engine, susp, tranny, etc.), there's no way to distinguish an ITR from a GS-R.

I read a magizine article back in 97 or 98. The price difference between a ITR and GSR was $5,000 I believe. They wanted to determine if the ITR was worth the difference in price. They put the $5,000 into the GSR, and the couldn't get it to pull close to the same performance numbers as the ITR.
There was no way a $3,000 will transform a GS-R into a typeR. But, of course, mad $$$ can make even a Pinto to drive like a Ferrari.
depends on where u buy parts and which ones u buy.
driver is THE MOST IMPORTANT....no matter what car u drive.

Basicly he said that he doesn't understand why people buy Type-R's because the GSR can be made faster for cheaper(NOTE: I do not agree with this in any way shape or form)
They are diffrent cars but with the right amount of money they can be made allmost identical.
i dunno, $-wise i think i could have afforded an R if they were out in 99.........
stock for stock i would have gotten the R.......
but now that i look at it, performance/function/safety wise, im happy i have my gsr!
i only track it every so often so it's all good....
hopefully it wont get stolen

Should point out though that the GSR is no slouch... And depending on what you are going to use it for, it may be the better way to go.. ie drag racing only.. might just as well start with a GSR and gut it then start modding... Way less chassis needed for drag racing than road racing.. Know what I mean?
