Default Best security system for a Jeep with no top

With summer just around the corner, I'm going to be taking the top off the CJ soon.

As easy as it is to just reach in and grab **** out of my car, I'd like to get an alarm system for it. Plus, I just got a full GPS system that I will be installing on the roll cage that I don't want anyone ******* with or trying to steal.

If I remember correctly, can't you get some kind of motion sensor alarm for the interior of convertible type cars? I don't know if I am imagining this, or took to many ultrams tonight and just can't find them online.

Would that be the best idea to protect **** inside the Jeep? Would just a normal car alarm be able to detect motion inside? If not, what would be the best route to go?

IMO best route would be to get a DEI python or viper system ,with the 508d dual zone prox sensor. make sure its properly installed and the sensor is tuned just right. that way youll get the full potential of the unit and you wont have to worry about people tryin to steal your **** as much

Thanks for the input.

This is what I am looking for, right?

Then that hooks up to a normal car alarm, correct?

yes ,if you have a directed system like python or viper, itll plug right into the brain. if you have another brand system youll have to splice it in possibly

****. I just remembered the Jeep doesn't have a horn. I guess I should invest in that before an alarm that just makes the lights blink

Are there any decent alarms out there where the remote is strictly for the alarm?

I'm looking at the Viper and Python alarms. Most of them are $300+ but have Door lock/unlock, trunk release, remote start etc. etc. (features I don't need)

Are these alarms that much $$$ because they work better than the rest, or because of all the added features?

Okay, not to be a dick... well, I'm about to be a dick.

1) This is a Honda/Acura forum.

2) There's a huge sticky about alarms at the top.

3) There is no alarm made for convertibles. If you want a motion sensor, you can add it to any alarm.

4) Alarms don't use your horn. They come with their own siren.

5) Circuit City just fired all of their senior installers nationwide, so don't go there.

Sorry for being a dick. But it was this or just lock your thread.

Its all good, I did a jeep about a month ago for my vender son. I used the compustar 900s and a dei prox with a back up battery. Works out real good. The only part is that its a pain in the azz to get the prox adjusted because of the lack of the roof and doors. Putting them on effects the prox level.
