Default Best 91 Civic Lx swap

So my question is what would be the most logical and largest upgrade to put into a 1991 Civic Lx? I have been looking at the B16A1 and the D15 which are both a large upgrade from the D15b2 that I have currently. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Blow off all the help we have sitting waiting for you will be shunned.

What do you think all those threads that say FAQ swap info etc and that big red search key are for?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Driven &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Question:
What's the BEST engine for my Honda?

Answer:
125cc Honda dirt bike motor. It weighs under 50lbs, revs to 10000rpms, and makes 320hp/liter.

There, now that we solved the question that is constantly on everyone's mind, let's talk about pizza.

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.
Edited for the Whiners:
This is NOT a complete list, as there are mini-mes, LS-VTEC swaps, budget/poor man's ITRs, etc. Use the damn search button a bit more religiously.

What's the best engine for boost... the one that gets TUNED properly.
What's the best engine for drag racing... the one you spend the most money on making FAST.
What's the best engine for road racing... same thing.
What's the most reliable engine... the one you MAINTAIN religiously.
What's the cheapest engine... the one that's in your car.

There, hopefully when searched, this thread will pull up so people will stop making threads about stupid crap like "what's the difference between a GSR and a B18C5"...the oil caps.

Well basically it's the B16a1 vs D15b V-tech. Which would be best and easiest? I understand that the B16 is a bit more costly, but if it is a better match then so be it. And thank you dr_latino999 for some input.

I understand that the b16a1 requires new mounts which are obviously going to be a price increase. My only question is would it be stupid or cutting corners by just taking the D15b and swapping it or would it be that much larger of a difference and worth it for the B16?

That is a question only you know, specs what we say etc won't help.

You must spend alot of time thinking what will be best, look at what having a B series gives you and what a D series gives you both pro and con.

Then bite your lip, and pick.
