Power Windows??
my first car was a 96 civic EX the first winter i had that car my driver side window froze down and i had to replace the track, and motor it cost about $350. The following winter the same thing happened on the passenger side. I recently bought a 99 civic EX and the windows are slow and sometimes need some help to get up. I have done my best to keep them up but i don't want to spend the money and replace everything. Is there anything that i can do to fix this problem and has this happened to anyone else? thanks for your help.
That cost a lot to replace! Try getting some grease at a auto parts store and grease up the hinges. If you really have to replace it again, go to a junkyard or post a WTB in the sales section. You should be able to find a good working one for under 100 easy.
Window problems is one very very common problem among 6th gen civic's. Don't be put down by it.
Just try to sparingly use your windows and lube up the tracks and re-bend them back to straight if you must. Otherwise, a junkyard will be your best bet for motors. That's where my driver side motor came from 3+ years ago and it's still working.
