Crx is flooding the driveway!! timing-bogging question video included
Ok the crx was running fine, stop at a light and when i take off it starts bogging really bad. I have searched and came up with the following posibilities:
1. tps- i have already checked it and it functions within specs
2. Oxygen sensor- replaced with a new one
3. Just replaced fuel filter
4. Replaced cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires
5. rotated crank manually and everything lines up
6. poured injector cleaner
7. tried dry gas
8. checked ignition timing with the gun and its within specs
9. compression test 178-175-170-170
10. tried a different map sensor
11. drained gas tank, filled up with fresh gas
With one turn of the key i hear the fuel pump prime, im leaning towards a fuel problem since it only bogs before 2k, over 2k it runs fine but has a lot of trouble getting over 2k.
This is on a crx si, original d16a6 throwing NO codes.
it has not been cold, it has not rained and yet my car spits out water like crazy!!

UPDATE!!!!!!
i got a hold of a timing gun and timing is set at 12 degrees, i know i have to get it to 16 however, a few months back i did a wire tuck and cannot find that plug that has to be jumped in order to adjust ignition timing. what colors are the wires that come into/out of the plug?? if i can find the two wires maybe i can just bridge them together without having to look for the connector.
could my timing being at 12 degrees cause a problem like this?

maybe you got bad gas, maybe there is water in the gas try adding like 4-5 bottles of dry gas. My car bogged real bad like yours when it had bad gas after like 3,000 rpm's it seemed to get better. added the dry gas and it was gone within a couple miles
sounds like your distributor magnetic pickups. I would borrow 1 from someone whos distributor works and if its not the problem check the resistance on all your distributor pickup wires. Use a ohm meter and check the maximum resistance in the chiltons manual
yeah i would bet you have a gigantic hole in your head gasket.. your car sounds like a dirt bike.. what does your coolant level look like?

i highly doubt it could be a head gasket since fluids are not low or mixed together and car revs fine from 3k to redline, i might do a compression test tomorrow just to see whats up with that though

i also think it might be bad gas, dont think its the head gasket try was crx jimmy said

Drain it let it sit over night, In the morning if it does not smoke after start up then its the HG. I would not let it run more then 20-30 seconds</TD></TR></TABLE>
car does not smoke, it does let out water vapor though

ok so what does it mean when they are exessive? could the gas have water?

if your coolant level is ok, then you should drain your gas tank as much as you can. the amount of water that would have to be in your gas would have to be large to be putting out that much water. its probably not safe for the engine to run that gas. Buy a 5 gallon gas can and fill it up somewhere other than where you went last time.. and put that in after you drain the tank. use the old gas to run your lawnmower or something. .heh..
and make sure you have a fire extinguisher nearby when you do all this.. especially if you have a lot of gas left in the car still.
it IS true that water is a byproduct of combustion, but not THAT much water.
