So i have a 1991 CRX HF which i just dropped a B16a in it has Blox stage 1 camshafts with skunk2 adjustable cam gear with DC style headers and AEM cold air intake. I was thinking about getting a Skunk2 intake manifold with a 65mm skunk2 TB. I was wondering if anyone is running a similar setup and if so how they like it and what kinda power gains they are getting.

 

What are DC style headers? Aren't DC cheap enough but no you got cheap headers based on cheap headers.

CRXHFB16 I know the Skunk2 Manifold is always praised but I've never seen it make huge numbers, and if you're on a budget, look into an H22 throttle body, I'm sure getting one of those and porting it out will still run you much less than the Skunk2. Hell if you're the DIY type just make some individual throttle bodies and you're b16 will be slammin on a budget.

Honestly your DC header isn't making you any real power, if you can't afford to play cars don't.

Eldebrok and rage are two great low priced header setups that'll really help.

if you want real advice on building power for the b16, check out the all motor forum. search b16 on all motor forums. there is also the omniman dvd (its about half off right now) that documents what was done to get a b16 to 200 whp. save up your money, do your research and see what works for others rather then wasting money on things like a dc header. no offense, they might have been a good gain back in the day when the B series motors got popular, but they are pretty much like a stock replacement now a days. you have to pay to play, especially with b series motors.

i want to go K, but we will see. how cheap the si swaps become when the model has been in production for a while. im still waiting for honda to use FSI (direct injection) in their K motors for even more horsepower, torque, fuel efficency.

That is the best choice, the K. But I am trying to cut back on promoting the K. People are thinking I am a band wagoner or something. Just because I openly advocate the usage of their most formidable fwd 4cylinder to date. It is not my fault they are the best.

 

your not bandwagoneering. you are one of the first to have it in a ef chassis, along with pacman, rywire, and a few others. its a great engine. it has all the positives of the high strung honda motor with a 6th gear for higher speeds. and it still can get 30 or more mpg. and has torque like a ****.

Glad someone understands. That King B16 is nasty though. It has that rage header Max spoke of. I have never heard of it, but if it is good enough for king, and it looks nice, then it gets, the crxbart . The nice thing is, with the lack of torque it would keep traction better.

 

theoretically it would, but knowing that it is a built motor, it prolly has a little more torque, and maybe will cause some wheel spin.

It probably would still be pretty torque less. My good friend made, 188hp on a stock bottom b16, and it is peppy, but still gets grip with azenis.
