Default clutch adjustment

how do you adjust the clutch so it catches closer to the floor. i searched and i got this one answer to it but i dont completely understand it. can someone elaborate a bit on it? like where in the engine bay oe behind the pedal is the adjustment bolt?

At the very top of your clutch pedal there's a rod that that's connected to the pedal and then runs into the master cylinder. It should have a 12mm nut that you'll have to loosen then turn the rod until you get all the slack out of the top of the pedal. When you get all the slack out just tighten the nut back up.

Hmm, was that a question or a new-topic-reply?
That's the basics, if you want exact dealer specs you have to measure free play from the floor.

The plunger in the master cylinder is what is pushing the fluid into the slave cylinder, which is what pushes your clutch in.
If you have 6 inches of free play from the top, you will not ever push the plunger in all the way and your clutch will only be halfway released.
If you have 6 inches of free play from the floor, your clutch may never fully engage.
The rod on the master cylinder is the adjustment. You loosen the adjustment nut and screw the rod in or out, depending on which way you want to go.

Unscrew it to have less play from the top (Instant clutch release, alot of play before engagement)
Screw it in, if you want a quicker engaement, closer to the floor. Most people want a quick engagement, that is close to the floor. Just don't go too far, or your clutch will not be pressed in all the way.

There are specific clutch adjustment measurements in the Shop manuals under "clutch master cylinder". http://www.hondahookup.com
