as the title says. snapped a wheel stud a month ago and finally have some time this weekend to tackle it.
just wondering if i would need to remove the whole spindle or is there some sort of cheating way so i don't have to remove the entire unit.
let me know guys!

Depends on the car and whether it is the front or rear wheel. If you jack up the car and pull the tire, you should be able to look behind the hub to see if there is a gap or space enough in the hub to pound out the stud and replace.

yea, this is for the front drivers side.
a friend of mine said you could probably grind a little bit of the end of the stud to make it go in easier...any truth to this?

So on the front axles, it is possible to replace a wheel stud by simply tapping it out from the back?
BTW sorry to thread jack

you do tap it out the back, only problem is there isnt enough room to tap it out the back of the hub with the hub still pressed into the spindle.
so yes, you have to remove the spindle in order to press the hub out in order to remove the stud.
or do like i do and grind the spindle to allow clearance of the stud. (ghetto, only for customer cars, not mine)
