Default Question for last gen Prelude enthusiasts.

I'm new here. Long time poster on the car lounge and bimmerforums. Gas prices have driven me to buy a Honda for a daily driver. I've been looking for Preludes for the last few weeks.

My questions to all of you are:

What are the differences in handling between a base and SH models? Is it actually noticable on the street in daily driving? I understand how the ATTS system works and have been looking for an SH because of it. It would open up my options alot more if I were considering base Preludes.

I do not intend to mod the car beyond an intake and possibly springs. I don't know if that should influence my choices or not.

To those of you who have owned an SH or base Prelude, if you were buying another last gen Prelude, which would you choose?

Thanks for the help...

If you dont really want to go with hp, then just get the sh beause it dose handle better then the base.

If you dont plan on doing the following, get an SH:
OBDI conversion + tuning
Turbo
Built NA

Basically, if you are wanting to do anything associated with real power, dont get an SH.

Well the turnning radius on the bases 5th gens is smailler. Basically a base can turn around in a smaller area. However the SH can out performe a base in handeling on the streets. SH's have ATTS (Active Torque Transfer System) it sends power to the outside wheels during a corner.

I would say get an SH if you plan only an air intake and springs. However this think is like crack... once you get started you cant stop. You havnt seen any really niced up ludes have you? Heres this months prelude of the month at PP.

I have an SH and I am wuite satisfied with it. I had an 06 WRX prior to my Lude so when it comes to handling I would have to say its not that good, only because I have owned an awd. Before my Scooby, I had a 93 Prelude SI, the SH handles alot better than the SI.

Yes, I read that.

I'm looking for the opinions of owners of both base and SH cars and how their evaulations on the car(s) fit my personal needs.

I appreciate all the feedback everyone.

if you think you may every mod your car past an intake, get the base, The SH is a gem on the track where the ATTS can really show it's true colors. Each model has its Pro's and Con's, Check the FAQ's, my moneys on the SH, i personally think more bang for your buck but everyone has different opinions.
