Is this possible? I recently got a used OEM rear spoiler and will do the installation this weekend. As far as i know i have to drill 4 holes. 1 on each side where there are markings and the other 2 in the middle. My problem is i dont have a template or those sticky rings that serve as markers for those center holes when you buy it brand new. My question now is, can i just use 1 screw per side and then tape the rest of it so i dont have to drill holes in the middle? thanks

you should only have to drill 1 hole per side of the inside of the fenders....
the rest of the lip is held on w/ clips and bolts.....
the rest of the lip is held on w/ clips and bolts.....

you did not state that....
i think you will be fine w/ the 2 bolts on the sides and double sided tape throughout the center section....

if honda wanted to make it so that there was only one bolt on each side and double sided tape in the middle... they would have done that to all there S2K's... they didnt... your spoiler will most likely fly off ripping the bolts out of your trunk along with that pointless double sided tape... you didnt want too many holes in your trunk... well if ur lucky when the spoiler does rip off there will still only be 2, but theyll be bigger then when they started... do it right... dont ****** skimp on 2 bolts just cuz u dont want to put holes in ur trunk... thats ****** such a lame excuse... why dont u just use magnets???
seriously you have the flagship honda car and your going to use only half of the bolts provided for the proper installation... come on man that just sounds dumb... your already putting 2 holes in your trunk, whats 2 more... i dont even understand why you were even contimplating not using the required hardware... would you buy a house where the contractor only used half of the required screws and nails to hold your house together... no you wouldnt... so dont do it here... and post pics when your done

vhb http://solutions.3m.com/wps/po...m/vhb double sided tape and the two bolts should be fine for this rear spoiler.....
there is plenty of contact patch....for the tape

if you were refering to this spoiler, obviously you would have some problems...

but y would you even chance it? even if he takes it off hes going to have 2 holes in his trunk... whats 2 more... i really dont see the point... is it worth is?
steel bolts > double sided tape
however if you were to have double sided tape underneath as well as the 4 bolts, i would def suggest that as well... less rattle, tighter seal... it would be like the gaskets that were made for the ITR spoiler... let us know what you decide on doing... also just to point this out... if the spoiler falls off and hits a car behind you or causes and accident... you are 100% at fault and could be and most likely sued...
so like my previous statement... is it worth it?

you should be good. the spoiler is only for looks, i doubt it provides much down force. the angle of the spoiler isnt that significant to where the wind would grab it and rip it off.

honestly your decision is stupid IMO... post pics up when some air does get underneath... or when some vandal decides to rip it off...
way to be lazy and ignorant...

apples and oranges... y does honda use 4 bolts instead of using 2 and tape??? hmmmmmmmmm?
I replaced my inner 2 bolts with these. I am a thief paranoid person and the more protection the better. All 4 screws also got permenant loctite - the green stuff.
And I think the inner screws are necessary to reduce the amoutn of flexing the spoiler has when you open the trunk by lifting on it. If you do this enough, the side nuts will loosen over time.

yeah it would help to have some in the center (mine does) but no one really cares enough and is making as big of a deal out of it as some others are. THIS MAN CAN DO WHATEVER HE PLEASES WITH HIS OWN CAR. get off his back and quit throwing critisizm at people.
