mpfi and an automatic tranny
Ok has this been done and if so is there a write up anywhere.
A friend has a 91 civic dx hatch back.
It has the automatic tranny in it.
His wife will be driving the car so we cannot change the tranny.
He is planning on doing the dpfi to mpfi swap.
He has purchased the si intake manifold, dizzy, injector wiring and resistor box.
My question is what ECU do we need to run to keep the auto tranny. And how do we wire up the engine bay.
I would assume we use the standard dpfi to mpfi swap but the auto tranny is throwing me.
Thanks

the si ecu . you will loose torque converter lockup (overdrive) but you can hook it to a switch to turn it on or off when you want. and you have to ground some wire to make the shift lock disengauge
yeah i think the only issue will be the stupid lockup control solenoid thingy ontop of the tranny, use a switch like the other dude said, who knows when u have to flip that switch on.

Use this link, its what I used when I did the mpfi on my auto CRX. Like the other guys said, you will A) need to use a PS9 ecu and B) need to use a throttle body with dual wheels for throttle cable and kickdown cable, the manual TB won't work, trust me. Both the ecu and throttle body can be found in the 90-91 Civic EX automatics. Everything else is cake.
