Sup guys. i need a little help. i have a 95 del sol. s model.

alright when im accelerating i here a weird noise it sounds kinda like when u shake a empty can of spray paint. only when i hit the gas i her it and not in neutral. i used to here it on my moms old car but ididnt care. but now i want to klnow. i think it might have something to do with maybe the fuel i dont know some help would be good. i also thoght it might be the axels but its a diff. noise and the axels are new any ways... sooooooooooo please honda-tech help my ride lol

almost sounds like bottom end knock , lol. hard to say dude with what your telling us. need better description.

 

its only when i first accelerate in a gear or let off the gass then step on it again.its diff. from an engine knok i hope it kinda just sound like something is shaking. i dunno.

 

would the axels make noise when ur goin striaght? or would they just make noise when turning?

 

I'd consider trying to use 91 octane and see if that corrects the "knock" or spray can rattle. That's an extra $2 on your next fill-up. Sometime low quality, or low octane gas can cause a "knock." If you're useing 91, go with a Brand name gas, Chevron, Mobil, Shell, etc. That's my $.02.

Also, when it's rattling, is it relativly random, or pretty uniform, almost machine gun style? Random would tell me it's something loose, and uniform is a rotational knock, like engine knock. I had a very random rattle sound, (under acceleration, and sitting idle) and it turned out to be my AC tensioner got loose, fell off, and was bouncing around my belts and pullies. Fortunatly I didn't have any damage. That's my experiences. I hope that helps.

 

thanks. well i was just out side and had the car running. it wasnt making the noise at all i gave it gas and no noise its only when im driving. but im goin to try a higher octane i was thinking that on my next fill up. but im thinking it might be the axels. or one of them atleast is there any thing i can do to kind of narrow it down any ideas.. thanks.
