Default Another Car Won't start Thread !!! Need Help!!!

Okay so heres the deal, I pulled the plugs and tested for spark, and got spark. When I pulled the plug smelt gas and could see it on the piston. When I crank it, it turns over and I could hear it ignite, because it sounds like a poping in the cyclinders but it wont start......I hear the fuel pump prime and I checked the fuses and main relay too......I am at a lose what am I missing..... All I did to the motor was change the clutch and timing belt and water pump, also installed arp headstuds and changed the head gasket.....any ideas......its a 95 ex coupe with the stock Z6....

timng is off. Did you retorque the head gasket? Might be leaking, therefore loosing you compression, so therefore no combustion.

If you made certain all your timing marks are on (crank and cam) when your on tdc #1 then it sounds like it might be electrical. From my experience, I have had a similar no start situation and it was the coil and igniter. But if you took the head off make sure all the marks are on cuz if not, better do a compression check and/or leak-down test. Good luck!

Since you removed the tranny and head, you reconnected all connectors and checked all grounds, right? I would double check all that because the coil and igniter aren't that cheap, at least for the b series they're not.

sounds to me that you have the plug wires in the wrong firing order hold the book side ways and look at it.thats the way it should be.a buddy of mine car did that the other day he changed his plugs and wires and didnt put them back the way they should have been and it would turn over all day but wouldnt start i put them in the right order and it runs just fine..................just trying to help

I checked the plugs again and the order is right, I forgot to mention that the plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor are all new too.......last thing it could be is the coil and igniter replacing that right now than I'll let you know if it runs or not.....Brb........

White smoke is a good indication of a bad head gasket. You did torque the head bolts to spec, right? You might have distorted the gasket, therefore allowing water from the jackets to enter the combustion chamber.

Yea I did it to spec.......I have know clue what I did wrong, but I did something.....so tomorrow I'll get a new head gasket. I started it again and it Idles rough, could that be because it hasn't been timed yet or what else??? after about two minutes it started to smoke for the head gasket, only a leakdown test would tell if I messed anything up below the gasket, right??? This just sux.....
