Default After hundreds of dollars, all I needed was a Fuel Filter to stop my car from stalling!

After several post in this forum I finally fixed my Prelude "Idle & Stalling" problem. All it took was a fuel filter. I purchased a EGR Valve, Map Sensor, and a Chipped OBD1 ECU which worked but the car ran bad. As soon as I started the car with the OBD2 ECU in after changing the filter I can notice a big difference.

Now all I have to do is figure out why my ECU keeps throwing "Random misfire codes and I will be ready to start adding mods to my car.

It's really amazing all the problems caused by a bad fuel filter, and they're all so misleading.

Can't really blame the filter, unless there was a factory defect (which is rare). Otherwise, the only way a filter will go bad is if you let it go bad by not replacing it on time. $25 and 10 minutes of your time - that's all it takes to prevent this from happening.

But yes, I agree. The problems caused by it can be misleading.

It's still throwing codes so, I am going to replace the Air Filter now.

Adjust your valve lash.

it's the clearance between the rocker and the camshaft. I agree with cuz that solved my random misfire code. basically adjust the clearance to spec.
