AVS100 or SPT for dry grip?
I've had both before, Kumho ASX All Season and Yokohama ES100 AVS. Hands down the es100 won on traction in all categories, but comfortable and road noise was an issue. I could go 80 mph on a corner at a 90 degree angle and be able to turn without skidding. However, Kumho ASX was the total opposite, less traction, and more comfort. Right now I say the Kumho out lasted the es100s but at the time I had no camber kit to make my es100s last. Overall, Kumho is made for street, Yokohama belongs on the track. Yokohama is good but your going to feel every crack on the road. If I were you, I would get kumho spt for street, but for race days get yokohama s.4. Just my 2 cents of experience
The dry grip of the SPT is very, very similar to the ES100, almost identical. The wet grip of the SPT is significantly better.
You can see a side-by-side comparison test of these two tires here.

You're talking about an entirely different pair of tires. This topic was comparing the ES100 with the Kumho SPT, not the Kumho ASX.

The Kumho ASX is an all-season tire. The Kumho SPT is a totally different summer tire with entirely different characteristics.

ASX and the SPT are totally different!!!!!
ASX is a cheaper tire without any of the handling capabilities the SPT has.

Neither part of this statement is true. First, in most sizes, the ASX is priced about the same as the SPT. As for handling, they are designed for different purposes. The SPT is designed as a summer tire, to be used in moderate to warm temperatures, and at those temperatures, it will indeed grip and handle better than the ASX. The ASX is designed as an all-season tire. Like most all-seasons, it has the added flexibility to be used in frigid temperatures and to grip on snow, and in exchange for that added flexibility, it doesn't grip (or handle) as well in moderate to warm temperatures as summer tires like the SPT. But it will out-handle the SPT in snow and when it's really cold out.
