Default weird popping noise...

so a few weeks back i was in idaho visiting some friends. i let one of them drive my car (91 crx dx) and we hit a huge pot hole and caught some air. last friday i replaced my gay aftermarket exhaust with a stock setup and noticed that the rear passenger strut/shock makes a popping noise everytime i start rolling. i'm not even sure that the pothole incedent and the popping noise are related, as the exhuast was loud enough to cover up the sound. i have blue tokico's on there. does anyone have any idea as to what it could be? i haven't honestly looked at it yet, mostly becuase i don't know what to look for unless something is dangling or torn up. thanks guys!

the strut might be bent or the spring might have shifted and is binding

thanks for the quick reply. i'll take a look at it tonight, and maybe snap some pictures if possible. is there an easy fix for either of those? and by easy i mean inexpensive.

buy a new strut or new spring you can def buy struts individualy but the spring you might have to find a set. and yeah its kind of easy. ive compressed springs while still on the car you just have to take your time or you can hurt yourself. put the car on jackstands, then take a jack and jack up the control arm you are working on. dont let the car lift though. when the shock is jacked up. loten the top center bolt at the top of the shock. then after it is off, slowly let the jack down to let the shock down as well. and there you go. just do this process in reverse to get it back together.

Jack your car up and take the tire off. You may have bent your strut, or as tougetuned_ef said, the springs may not have alligned properly. Do you have coilovers or springs on there? Or are you with your stock springs? If you've got coilovers, there is no spring travel on your strut, so your strut will max out and your coilover may have fallen out of place and recompressed in an improper place.
