i was cruising on the highway today and it was empty so i decided to see how fast my car can go. i have a b18b in an ek with basic mods. i was expecting around 135mph but it wouldn't go past 125mph. i know that the top speed for an integra ls is 150mph or close to it. how fast have you guys gone with this setup or similiar to this? is it time for vtec?

Rev limiter? What transmission? These might be my first questions...another question is, does your speedometer even read acurately at those speeds? Do you have stock size wheels/tires?

But I must agree, why the hell are you going soo fast on public roads? accident at 60 mph...people get hurt. 125mph people get KILLED!

 

People can still get killed no matter how fast you're going....

But yeah have you changed up the rim size? That will throw off your speedometer. And tranny.

yeah i know but the highway was empty and it was so tempting. i have 15" rota c10. the motor is stock with h/e/i and stock tranny.

 

so ls all the way around?... what ecu are u running... a chipped p28 or he p72? or is it 73. i cnat remember. topping out only occurs when yur ecu tells yur car. "this dumbass is goin too dman fast. cut off his supply" and my dear friend. yur ecu is the greatest life support machine u can ever have. listen to it.

That's about how fast stock Civics go. Few cars go as fast as their speedometer goes up to.

And yes, you can die at any speed, but excessive speeds greatly increase your chances of a problem. Hit a rabbit at 40mph, no big deal... maybe minor damage to the bumper or lighting. Try hitting one at 100mph though.

haha i can neither confirm nor deny that joke...but i can laugh at it.

i mena really...its one thing to go fast in traffic or during normal driving hours, but if the roads are empty you're only going to kill yourself...and if you're okay with that...so am i

And he got a simple answer.

His stock car doesn't go any faster than 125mph because it's not supposed to. It's topped out. Sorry the car doesn't go as fast as the speedometer reads.

I'm fine with him speeding and being a general asshat on the road. I don't live in NorCal and I don't have any friends or family living in NorCal. So really... it wouldn't affect me personally if he crashed into a minivan full of kids. And there's a good chance he'd Darwin himself in the act, so it's not like he'd feel bad about it. So no harm no foul I guess.

yep, my ej8 with suspension work sitting on 15inch si's with a bone stock y8 (except for a k/n drop in filter and resonater removed) tops out at around 125mph...i think i'd could prolly get up to 130mph but i'm not looking to find out anytime soon haha....

 

who cares how fast he drives its his car, so its whatever he wants to do, how fast does everyone get up to when they are actually racing? well the ones that have decently fast cars. i myself have hit 145 racing on public hwy's and there has been traffic, hell i have been pulled over for racing a turbod eclipse and we were well over 125. but anyways 125 aint **** esp. on an open road. so dont lecture him on how hes an asshat or ******* or whatever else you all have said. if you didnt test out you car on somewhat of a casual basis then you all would be driving suvs or trucks seeing who has the biggest rims. we drive honda's to have fun.
