Replacements for CRX bass tube speakers?
Just got the stereo hooked up in the car....and the rear speakers in the bass tube sound like crap. They distort and crackle when any kind of bass or volume is applied.
Is there anything I can get to replace the factory speakers inside the bass tubes?
(I'm not really into stereo stuff...I just need to be pointed in the right direction)

you need to get a high quality set of 6 1/2s . those speakers arent really made for bass if you want good bass response add a subwoofer. if your budget doesnt allow it, then i would say maybe the polk db or momo series for good bass response
I'm not looking to get any real amount of bass from them....just something more than the front 6.5" can provide. I'm not playing anything with any kind of bass to it (no hip hop/dance....just hard rock).
Is there such a thing as a ~4" mid-range speaker?

if you replace that with aftermarket youll prolly lose bass. i would put oem back in it or upgrade to aftermarket amp and woofer. go here and find it http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
is it a factory radio running the speakers? if it is then just replace with factory, but if its aftermarket ,get some better speakers and if you want add a 2 channel amp. by adding an amp you can get the full power of the speakers and you wont have to crank it up as loud to be clear and good sound
