Default Removing A/C and Crusie Control?

So quick question. Is removing A/C and cruise control as easy as just following the wires and taking/cutting them out? I'm trying to clean up my engine bay and i rarely use those two but yet they take up so much room in the bay.

I'm more worries about the cruise control because i'm HORRIBLE at anything that has an electric current... And i heard A/C was as easy as just following the hoses and tubes and yanking them...is this true??

Thanks guys

Easy as following the wires/hoses, and a couple plugs.

word of advice... when you vent your freon... either A. take it to a shop and have them do it.. (its illegal to vent without proper disposal), or option B. vent it properly because i had a situation once where i blew off the bolt holding the fitting to the compressor with a air gun(thought there was no freon) ... and the fitting came out and so did a lot of the neon green colored oil. so this whet over much of the engine bay and the lower part of the windshield, not to much fun to clean up

you want to vent it here:

cover it with a towel or rag first, cause it will squirt first... have a catch can under it to catch the stuff that drips out...

You do Not need a write-up to take the cc out,
I took it out one day without even thinking, and it took less then half an hour.

Unless you're blind, it's as easy as unclipping, or unplugging things..

for the cruise control i took mine out less than 20 min.

all you have to do is unplug it, open it up and remove the throttle cable located inside....i hid the cable somewhere in firewall (too lazy to remove it) and as for the A/C, took me about an hour. your going to have to remove the battery and the thing holding the battery on the bottom. you will see 2 lines there, just unscrew them.

FYI coming from a current HVAC student....
its illegal to vent HFC's (r134-a) since november 15th 1995
or CFC/HCFC's since july 1st 1992 (r12/r22).

the oil is contaminated refrigerant specific compressor oil!

You shouldn't be working on cars if you can't change a tailight properly.

lol coming from an Italian Restaurant server it is illegal to vent the R134 gas into the atmospher.

lol, its pretty common knowledge, doesn't take a HVAC engineer to tell him!

this is a tech forum isn't it??? where you inform the uniformed...

i was just looking out for the guys who went into detail about how not to make a mess under the hood when illegally venting it.. they should probably keep that kind of info to themselves.. but then we get people that have no clue piping in...

look up the fines on page 7 they are no joke

can i actually get fined for posting pics of this illegal process? say its not my car...
well the document you linked to stated that TECHNICIANS that illegally vent refrigerants into the atmosphere can be fined up to 27,500 USD... but what about us ordinary people?

cruise control is very easy to d/c. just uplug and remove the 10mm bolts and twist the cable at the firewall and d/c from under the dash at the pedal. thats it. 5-10 min job.
