check your battery voltage and your resistance across the power wire to the starter

i just had a coil that went bad.. and after i got it started it could be restart with no problem.. to test your coil do this.. when its cold take teh cap off.. the coil has 2 wires going to it.. + and - test the resistants between the wires.. it sould be between .6 and .8 ohm.. do you know how to do this?

why double check the battery?
When i stopped at the store on way home last night i noticed my idle was moving from 800 to like 1800 rpm up and down making me more to believe the Idle Air Control valve.

Maybe, But I'll put my money on the FITV (Fast Idle Thermo Valve).

Here's a link on how to clean yours

just disconnect the hose to the FIV to rule out coil and battery issues. Your idle should skyrocket nicely, and if it doesn't then go from there.
