Installing DSM 450cc Injectors.. having a couple problems
Okay so.. I am throwing DSM450ccs into my boosted B16A2 and everything seems to have gone smoothly. The resistor box went in perfectly, all my wiring is correct (confirmed with multimeter). At the same time I removed my FMU by rerouting my fuel hose directly from the AEM FPR right to the firewall. Now, with these injectors in, the car will not start. It would start up on the 240ccs, but not rev properly. This is a phearable.net P28 basemap by the way. My question is, was I supposed to repressurize the fuel system in some way? I removed the banjo bolt on the fuel rail temporarily so that I didnt cover myself in fuel. Two of my injectors are leaking slightly from the top, I think its my upper orings. Will my stock upper orings work with DSM injectors? Can someone who has installed blacktops and had similar problems help me out? Thanks in advance..
replace the o-rings you can't mess around with stuff like that seriously it might be like 20 bucks for all new o-rings my buddies built lsvtec caught on fire in his integra because the fuel injector for cyl #1 was leaking fuel he was less than a 1/2 mile from his house and on his way to fix it too.
as for your fuel problem there is no re-pressurizing the fuel system, that's what the pump is for...try starting the car with the 450s in without the box wired in if it starts then you have a problem with the box, just don't run the car with the 450s in it and no resistor box because it will damage the ecu after a while.

The top orings? I can buy replacements? I think its an OEM Mitsubitshi part. And if I take the resistor box out and try to start the car once, it wont cause any permanent damage? The last thing I want to do is fry my new P28.
For sure fix that leak. But what is your car doing when you try to start it. Also i was under the impression that blue tops are 450 and black tops are 370
I dunno.. it says 450 on the side of it, and it came out of my friend's 1999 Eclipse GSX. So, about the leak, any ideas about the top o-rings? And if the o-rings wont work, is there any sealant I should look into? The car just cranks, but doesnt seem like it wants to start at all. Shouldnt the car start anyway regardless of injector leak? Thanks again..

Go down to nappa and buy an injector repair kit. There about 10 bucks a pop though. But i thought the civic o rings fit. Its been a long time.

you 240cc injector top oring's will fit..so replace it with those...find a unchipped WORKING ecu and see if you can start the car with the 450's...it starts the injectors are still good..if u not u possible have a bad injector somewhere..

Okay.. so try my 240 top o-rings, and if that doesnt work buy an injector repair kit. Thank you for the advice, I will post here again if needed.

The 240cc O-rings worked GREAT! Perfect seal. However.. the car still will not start. Any other ideas? The ONLY things I touched were :
Deletion and removal of FMU
Installed 450cc injectors
Installed new injector clips
Installed resistor box
Temporarily removed fuel filter service bolt

Is it possible that my motor is flooded with gas? My friend told me to pull the plugs and let it sit overnight.. what size socket is a spark plug, 5/8 correct?

If you hold the throttle wide open, this tells the ECU to go into 'clear flood mode' and not open the injectors so that the existing gas can be cleared from the cylinder.

Lol, sorry I'm newb. What size is the spark plug socket EE_Chris? I tried holding the throttle open for a little bit, still wont start. Any ideas?

Should I try starter fluid? I'm assuming spark plugs need their own special wrench? And when you say, the existing fuel can be cleared from the cylendar - am I supposed to clear it? Or does it drain somewhere..
A video of what? Is there an injector fuse? The car started right up two days ago no problems with the 240s in.
A video of what your car is doing so we can see and help you better. Check your fuses, both inside the dash and under the hood.
...? Theres nothing to take a video of. I've been extremely descriptive of whats going on. The car cranks but will not start.
Then try replacing everything until you figure out whats wrong. Start with injectors and resistor box til you figure out whats wrong.
Jeez.. should I take the injectors out and go have them flowtested? There is a place that can do that up the road.. but they were pulled out of my neighbors perfectly stock and working GSX..
