HELP timing belt snapped on DOHC ZC
I was driving yesterday and my timing belt broke. I dont have the time to read through a bunch of post and I need specific answers for my questions. So dont hasle me about using search, I usually do.
Now onto the question, I was going about 45 mph, and was shifting into 3rd or 4th gear. All of a sudden I felt a loss of power, tach dropped to zero Im guessing, dont really remember. Didnt know what was going on. So I tried down shifting and pressing the gas still nothing so I coasted of the road and called my wife to come pick me up. I have been having main relay problems so I thought that might have been it, changed it and still no start. I tried the ECU, dizzy and checked for fuel/spark. Needless to say I cranked it over quite a few times. So my question is what is the likelyhood on this engine that the valves are bent? Thanks

likelyhood is you maybe have broken a valve/piston.. maybe
I have heard cases where no damage has happend.
Take the tappic cover off any put the engine at TDC and set both cams at TDC (never worked with a dohc yet
) and put a new belt on and then turn over the engine... see what happens.

There's a 50/50 chance of it being trashed.
Had a customers belt break about a month ago (230k miles on orig belt). It broke while driving. We replaced the belt and water pump and it was good as new.

do you mean take off the valve cover??

no first take off the tappit cover and install the new belt to turn over the whole engine.
then when u turn it over watch each set of valves to see it any are sticking or acting wired.
if that looks ok turn the engine over with the starter motor... just a quick shot dont start the engine.
if that looks/sounds ok try start it....

Sometimes it does destroy the motor, sometimes it doesn't. Like I said in the other recent T-belt thread, As far as I remember all honda motors are interference. You could have done some damage.
If It were my car, I would go buy a T-belt and water pump.....Set the timing, install the new belt and see what happens. Can't really hurt the bent/broken valves much more than they already are (assuming worst case scenerio).
Best case is that it starts right up.

if the valves are screwed, will it start up?? also would it have prob damaged the block/pistons? because I can get a head pretty cheap if not. thanks
if the valves are bent, they probably scored the pistons as well. The block is probably fine (unless a valve broke).
If the valves are really bent, your motor wont start.
