Default exhaust question

well A few weeks ago I got hooked up with a I believe tsx exhaust from the header back. I was In need Of a exhaust so I welded it up to fit my sedan.as of right now its going from header to to resanator no cat. to the actuall muffler. the resinator had a little arrow saying front. but the exhaust didnt. so I didnt know which way to weld it. so I just guessed and now it doesnt sound very good. could it be that the muffler is the wrong way. it sounds raspy in between the 2500 and 3200rpm range. I would take some pictures but I dont have a camera right now

The arrows point to the exit of the exhaust path.

It may be raspy because you don't have a cat. When I ran a test pipe, ebay high flow cat aka mini muffler, etc. my exhaust sounded raspy like crazy. Put an OEM cat back on and all is well.

well I need to make some adjustments to the exhaust so I was thinking maybe I put the muffler or resinator on backwards. and if I did I could fix it when Im making the adjustments
