Default Mods: Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't?

ok. to the mods that patrol the R forums, i can see how you all go around, doing your jobs, keeping each forum tidy and what not.

what i do not understand is how you are not equal with each member.

i know three members here who have posted in this forum, who do not own R's----Vegeta, in particular, has taken points away from them for not posting in the appropriate forum. their posts had some reference to the R, or the people who can help in this forum. They're not posting to brag about their altezzas.

It seems like he was concentrating his "authority" on certain members, as other topics such as "Look at my rims on my Civic CX" remain here?

my question is: what's with that, i know u cant be supermen and be on here all the time, but why be dicks to certain people?

cliffnotes: Mod *****, either do ur job fairly or find someone else who will

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. It cannot really be regulated though, its HT politics and its elite. There are quite a few members that can post pretty much anything they want and not be penalized with a 'lock' or percentage deduction.

yeah, im actually one of the doods that blackitrspec was talking about.

i post here, not only because more people here (r owners ) have a similar setup to me (not that many gsr owners have toda b's, the jdm exhaust, 2.5" etc, lsd, etc 5 lug etc), but mainly because they are more knowledgeable====helpful

vegeta deducted me 2% pt.'s for some posts---that did not DIRECTLY deal with R's in general, but rather, was aimed at the more knowledgeable people here (i know i was somewhat out of line, it was a general 'tech' q but i think that those points were undeserved---being that i do know the rules here, i've been a member here longer than most of these 'mods') but yes, at the same time, there were posts like "what do u think about smoked corners", "where can i buy the best aem intake" etc.

yeah, hopefully this post will not be 'censored' fahrenheit 451 style, but rather looked upon to improve the already burgeoning site that it already is.

crap, for a while, clubsi.com looked more 'user friendly'.

well, this is constructive criticism;
thas my 2 centz

I personally feel that the R forum is more of a place for techs and info, rather than a place just for people who are lucky enough to own an R. That's why I ask all my questions here.

There is a tech forum...that's what it's for.

I usually let some things slide, but it doesn't have anything to do w/ who the user is. Sometimes the topic is something that hasn't been discussed or by the time I see it, has like 20+ posts already. In that case, I can tell that no one is going to bitch that it was left here and that people WANT to discuss it in this forum...

You will never see me keep a thread that has "what kind of wheels should I get for my civic"

this is so true.

Another thing that makes me wonder was when some silly broad posted a thread about how she was thinking about getting an R, and it absolutely blew up. Hundreds of responses, including those from mods. But then when someone posts something that isnt directly related to the R, everyone throws out the "wrong forum" flag.

just my thoughts FWIW

Personally, I wish we were even stricter with the posts and deletions, and to be honest it's lightened up quite a bit (too much) recently.

I do not think you should come in here and ask a question about your GS-R just because you think ITR people know more! ITR people come here to talk about ITR, not your GS-R.

You could probably post a thread asking for help, and then point to the Integra Forum or wherever, without making anybody mad. "I am having a problem with my GS-R's brakes. Could you guys please have a look at Honda-Tech URL in the Integra Forum and give me a hand? Thanks!"

I don't think anybody would object to that.
I couldn't agree w/ you more George!

George for mod!

The fact is more ITR people know their stuff than any other board on this site. And they get to your posts alot quicker. I dont see what the big deal is. The ITR guys have been more helpful to me than other boards.

I personally dont agree, but hey, opinions are like ********, right?

Its a car forum. A car forum we should all be able to enjoy. If you get upset by someone coming into the ITR forum and asking about his Toda B setup because many of the guys in the ITR forum are running Toda B's, thats absurd. God forbid its a question that doesnt relate to the almighty ITR that everyone so eagerly needs to see every thread about. Yet pictures of shifterkarts and JDM lips would clutter the first page on a board where the majority argues that Tech is its purpose. Apparently people's feelings and actions don't match up.

For the most part questions related to their respective models should be kept in their respective forums. But if a few leak out into the ITR forum, do you people really log on and go.. "God damnit, another thread by a GSR owner asking for AutoX setup advice on the 1st page. **** that..." when you KNOW that many of the guys here AutoX and can offer advice. If it bothers you that much, ignore it.

I just dont get the whining...everyone loves avatars, everyone hates avatars. Everyone supports a GSR post in the ITR forum, yet everyone is against it. So much drama all the time. Can we all just remember it's an internet messageboard where we come to talk about cars?! Its not a democracy, its not a dictatorship...its a messageboard. Can we stop making everything so political, sit back, stop worrying about such stupid ****, talk about cars and enjoy? Much like the old days...

Thanks George

You're absolutely right about "who's looking" which is part of the problem IMO. I think the ITR forum is probably the most difficult due to exactly the reasons you gave.

More moderators means more opinions on what should be locked. Also, there are a LOT of opinionated people in the ITR forum. Over in regular ol-Integra land, people are more willing to just accept it and move on. I think the # of mods, and the willingness for people to attack everyone for such insignificant reasons (both mods and members) makes this forum very very tough.

A little OT, but I also feel like I have been discriminated against by the mods.

I make a comment about "posting in a thread prior to it being locked" and I lose 2%. Am I the only one that is being watched? I thought using profanity will result in lower member rating, but I see profanity all over the place posted by users at 100%. What's the deal?

How long does it take for your points to return, and where can I see a list of phrases that have been deemed unacceptable?

It's a car forum for ITR related topics. If people want to talk about some other BS, then they should go find another site.

Yes, Integra and ITR is very closely related in some mechanical parts and shapes, but they are far different beasts. An advice based on ITR knowledge could be detrimental to a LS, GS-R, RS in some cases. Same reason why ITR guys don't go ask at the Integra or Civic forums.

From racing tips to JDM questions ask Type-R owners here
If this is supposed to be an "ITR owners only" forum, then make it so.

I post here because most people in the Civic forum don't know the difference between ARC and APC

And then there was the guy who wanted to bet $25 that his Pep Boyz shortshifter worked as well as my C's

George, I'm just trying to figure out how the system works, that's all. I've seen worse offenses than my own go unpunished, and was wondering if the punishment is automated or up to someone's interpretation.

Having watched your participation in several forums, however, I'd be the first to suggest that your perceived transgression was inadvertent.
Thanks, I think...

Ditto, for 2 years I was on this forum with my GS-R because of all the knowledgeful members here.

You know what you guys should do is have a link on EVERY post where the MEMBERS can vote if it is appropriate and if it should be deleted/moved or what not.

Like need a total of 50 votes for a topic to be deleted or something like that. Good for us, and good for you.

BUT, you guys probably don't know how to CODE that anyway because you just "lease" zeroforum .

i found a Solution---for the people who do not have R's, just change your SN to something that has something to do with an R, ie. Black R, B18C5Man, etc.

and you will not get bothered.

haha, hell, on my 'R' screenname, i've done many "where is the best place to buy 3rd brake lights for the dc2r"

LOL
yeah.
i was gonna change 'comptechgsr'' to comptech R, but yeah, didnt wanna get rid of this SN.

I'm not suggesting you do, I was just saying that I think that the people who frequent the forum know more about the performance aspect of things, and those of us who are impatient like the fast turn-around of responses. Persoannly I don't have any problem with how things are being handles by the mods here.

I think they are doing a good job, especially for something that they do not get any benefit from.
