just give fabtech a call, they started making an inch and a half lift kit a few years back. pretty good prices too.

I personally would not recommend going solely with larger tires. Instead, I'd look into some sort of adjustable coil-over setup.

i think it would be more legit of a question if he had told us what his current set up is.
so to make the h-t gods happy i'll say that if you got your car lowered or slammed on some springs i would take it back to stock height or get springs that you like better.
if your car is on coilovers and you're looking to be higher, raise them up (very nice feature)
and if your car is still bone stock i would leave it alone imo. i mean...stock civics sit high...if you want more ground clearance buy a truck.

Thank you. i don't know what the current setup is, I'll have to have it looked at to see if previous owner changed original configuration. It just seems awfully low (like 3 inches above ground)
if your car is bone stock i wouldn't change jack **** because its factory like that just like Pr0ject93hb said. But im guessing its modified with some coil overs or springs?

Well, I measured my old neighbor's stock 2000 Civic and it's front bumper measured about 8 inches off the ground.

Keep in mind everyone's car is not the same. Depends on the abuse the suspension has gone through, how much the springs are sagging, blown shocks, etc.
To the OP: Since you mention you have a 3" clearance right now, more than likely after-market lowering springs are on there. So your best bet would be buying OEM springs or something less aggressive.

funny i dont know if anybody has seen my car when it was OEM, but either something was jammed in the upright position, or honda decided to compete with Jeep cherokee and lift that son of a B higher than a dump truck. I didnt need a lift to work underneather the car, and I never had a jack. Consider yourself lucky, but the ride was very smooth.

I'm just giving an example of stock ride height.
Edmunds lists stock ground clearance as 5.9 inches, which sounds possible if the front bumper is 8 inches off the ground.

I"ve got 2 good rear shocks and 4 oem springs if you want them from my 97 honda civic ex coupe. real cheap. (we're in the same generation, model, etc.. so they should work for you)
