Default wheel bearing type noise

2K Honda Accord, the vehicle belongs to my son. He says there is a wheel bearing like noise coming from the right rear. He replaced the wheel bearing assembly, still has the same noise. He rotated the tires, didn't change anything. He jack-up each tire, one at a time, rotated and tried to shake the tires, couldn't hear or feel anything.

I looked up a few TSBs, I didn't notice anything that might help. I don't have access to every TSB on this vehicle.

I'm no good with noises, my hearing is no good. Any ideas? thanks

How is your rear alignment? If it's off, the tires could be making the noise.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know about the alignment? The tires do look worn. He rotated the tires thinking the noise might follow the tire. But it didn't. thanks

I did find some TSBs for rear wheel bearing noise on a Honda Accord. 97--98--99, but I didn't see one listed for the 2K model. I guess it is possible they used an older wheel bearing assembly on the 2K model.

The bulletin did list diagnostic procedures, I guess we can try that. I realise the noise may not be a bearing problem. thanks

I know it sucks to throw parts at a car but wheel bearings are difficlut to trace to one wheel just by ear. I've never heard anything that sounds and acts like a wheel bearing that wasn't a wheel bearing. might not be the right one, could be the left one. the noises do funny things.

might be good to have your son ride in the car while you drive it. he might hear it differently sitting in a different seat
