Car broken into.....rear window smashed...CD player stolen DIY fix possible?
God damn...I parked my car at a friend's place for a about a week to fly to vegas for a holiday and the first day I left..... that night itself my Sony CDX-M600 player got stolen. They got in through the driver's side rear quarter panel window....
I was wondering how difficult it is to fix that by yourself? Anybody have experience? How much does it cost for somebody to fix it for you?
Oh yeah I need a new CD player also ....
My friend's CDX-M610 also got stolen the same night by the same guys. They left a bunch of finger prints but the damn kansas city police refuse to come by to take a look at our cars. They said something about the incident being "noted"....damn I'm pissed...
Thanks for any help

A piece a card board and duct tape will fix it... for now. Grab the yellow pages and look up auto glass.

Yeah, I agree. This isn't something you should do yourself. Should get it done professionally. It's not gonna cost much more than $100 to get it fixed.

That sucks. What part of KC did this happen in? Whatever you do don't go to Lawrence. My car was broken into 3 times when I was in college. Finally I just left the doors unlocked so the thieves wouldn't break the windows every time.
Good luck...hope you find those aholes.

The same thing happened to me.
I recall that the window was $75 and labor was another $75. I was cleaning glass out of my car for a year, no matter how many times I cleaned the car I would find some glass somwhere.
Insurance didn't cover anything that was stolen so I was out close to $700.

Well I've checked with some shops in KC and they were charging US 225 to get the window fixed. That's hella expensive compared to what you guys are getting. I'll have to check somemore I guess to find a better price.
