I take it you have a USDM GSR or swap? From my experience, I can't see the bump in compression you want having an affect on smog. Im not too sure on the actual numbers, but I think the B18 has 10.4 or 10.6 to 1 CR. If you went with a JDM ITR piston which is 11:1 CR, that's only about a 0.5 raise in CR. I think the USDM ITR pistons are rated even lower than 11. I have/had BAR'd B16 in my coupe. The engine was a JDM B16 which has a slightly higher CR than the USDM B16(del sol) and I just recently passed smog with no problems. You might want to check on this guy Katman's website, I think its ffsquad. Theres a technical section and it has an article on all of the b series pistons and their CR theres even a CR calculator to determine your CR in various configurations.

Smog is caused my noxious gasses. One of those (a major contributor) being NOx. Or oxides of nitrogen. The "x" is for the number of oxygen molecules, which vary. Yes a bump in CR will affect smog. NOx is caused by high combustion chamber temperatures. Higher compression ratios will MOST DEFINITELY increase NOx. Unless you run rich to cool the cylinder...but then you're making more HC and CO. This is why engineers get paid so much to design engines lol. There's a trade off for everything, and you have to find the right balance.

I seriously doubt that such a miniscule bump in compression would cause you to fail smog.
