all of them? Isn't that where you don't have enough filler to be flush with the pipe level?

A lot of them do, but I know how a camera can play tricks with the shadowing. Also looks inconstant, like your not moving the torch evenly around the pipe.

jeebers, i need more practice. I have made a handful of manifolds and so far (knock on wood) none have cracked or had any issues though

There is a little bit of underbut and they are a little hot in spots. Looks like you have a really hard time keeping a consistant torch angle while moving around the pipe.

Top mounts or rams have a lot more room to expand, and more runners to take stress upon. Log manifolds see the most amount of stress. How many passes are you doing ?

forgot to add: When i weld, i usually just lay the filler in the bevel and run the torch in a weaving pattern over the filler. I slightly push the filler into the puddle to get more filler in the weld. Hence why the beads are in a weaving (side to side) pattern. Engloid told me to try it a few weeks ago, so i am trying to get it down instead of just dabbing it like most do. Just playing with all the alternatives to see what i like and dis like

Instead of laying the pipe flat so you are starting on a vertical up and ending kind of flat try standing it up on end. you know like a boner. then weld around it. It's easier to twist around it that way. With a little practice you will be able to weld upside down horizantally while hanging from your toes

I did that once. It was awsome until I passed out.

Its best when you pass out and the hot filler drips on your eye lids.

HAHAH. I love you name too, its odd.

I usually weld the horizontal way, so yea... i am going to go out in the 33degree garage and try that out here in a few.

have you tried to weld while at your bench getting a BJ? thats interesting too.

Yes that is the way to go. It looks as though when you get near the end of the weld your torch angle is very extreme possibly causing your filler to ball up a little? it's almost impossible to be consistant when that happens. turning down the amps and using a bigger filler rod can help also. It's almost easier to pull the filler OUT of the puddle just a wee bit than it is to force it in consistantly.

Naw I was migging inside a huge steel box. some jackass decided it would be sweet to add some bracing...from the inside....after the box was welded.

Genius.

Looks good brotha.

It takes dicipline to get the right torch angle. I suffer from that the most too.
