Default HELP... my car wont start, and im at work. =[

UPDATE April 26th, 2007
Well the previous problem, the battery was drained. So i went to autozone to get it recharged. 1 week later, today the 26th, my car wont start. I thought it was my battery again, so i went to autozone to get the battery checked. battery is good. wtfz.... faulty starter or what? mechanic said it was a brand new refurbished starter.

UPDATE April 12, 2007

I towed it to my mechanic. he replaced the starter. car runs again. i walk out to the car today, to leave work, from the same exact parking spot, and the starter is DEAD again?????? WTF?????????? no click when i turn....... HELP!!! STUCK AT WORK AGAIN THIS is the biggest string of bad luck ever... =[

...
...

I have not done anything to my car in the last 2 months.

Its a 1998 Civic with a Re-built B18b1 since last year around june. Also, my clutch is weak/ dying. I dont know if this is the reason. When i push the clutch in, im able to shift gears as well...

And it wont start now... wtf? All the electricity works... batteries tied down, music plays, alarm works...

I put the key in and turn the ignition, nothing, not even a click.

Can anyone throw out some possibilities???????

Is it possible the connection to the starter has failed (just thinking out loud here)?

Check your connections at the battery and starter.

it could still be ur battery. it takes ALOT of energy to start your motor compared to simply just playing music and other minor electrical things.

so ur battery maybe have enuf juice to power ur radio and wat not, but not enuf juice to start ur car.

this happened to me, since my radio/alarm worked i thought it wasnt my battery and something more significant, but went to autozone, and they jumped my car. low and behold it was my battery.

jump the car, if it turns on just keep it running so the alternator runs. drive it around a bit. then turn it off, try starting it again, if it does start, it could be ur alternator.

^^^ what they said...just make sure that you check all your connections, Its possible that after the new starter was installed that the connections got loose.

Sidemarker...

Starter...

No. Hell No.

Unless you decided to wire the sidemarkers into the starter harness, that is. Have you checked the ignition yet, could be your culprit. Run a wire from the positive on the battery directly to the starter(please make sure it's in neutral) and see if it spins. If it does...probably your ignition or something harness related.

Check your main relay aswell.

could have a faulty starter, try jumping the 2 wires that goto your starter (there are 3 wires, the 2 wires that are not the ground.) with a piece of wire and see if it does anything. You can also trying banging on the solenoid while someone tries it to see if it makes a difference. I know with my car my clutch switch was going bad, try moving the clutch pedal in and out, with the key turned all the way, to see if it makes a difference.

have you had the alternator checked?.. it may be bad, and may be why your battery is being drained.

dont know what the starter woud have to do with the battery draining, Its most likely the alternator and or your battery is just toast and you need a new one.

i thought the alternator is there to recharge the battery and run the car only 'after' the car is started?

isnt it the battery and starters job to get that thing started regardless of alternator?

expletive. this sucks.

i did. i got the starter replaced on a saturday. car ran fine until thursday, 5 days later. i got a jump start, drove it to autozone, and had it recharged. didnt touch it after that. about a week & 1/2 later which is today, the car wont start again. The radio plays, the battery is good after getting it checked. so since the only thing ive done to the car is change out the starter, then could it be the mechanic hooked me up with a refurbished starter that fucked up in 2 weeks?

alternator is there to keep the battery charged, if it doesnt stay charged it goes dead, hence the reason your battery might be drainng
