Wheel bearings...what do you guys use?
I need to replace my front wheel bearings...aside from OEM...do you guys use any special brand?
I remember Z10 (I think) had a booth back in the day at Englishtown, and they had a display up for "race" bearings...and compared them to stock bearings. They did roll smoother than stock. I forgot what these were.

Timken are the best, and Federal Mogul are very good. All bearings are not equal. I had put a set of "what I could find" at the autoparts store into a dana rear end a few years back, when I was stuck. Within 5 months I was replacing the bearings with Timken. When I did the failure analysis, I found that the rollers of those Chinese bearings were only 1/2 point off in rockwell hardness. That difference spalled the bearing races in short order. Quality counts a lot in bearings!
edit: 'cause I can't spell worth beans!
