koni yellows....lowest perch or stock perch?
Okay.... I got a question for you guys.... I'm looking for a 1.7" drop or so for my 2000 integra and pretty much decided on koni yellows and h&R sports ( or neuspeed sports). However, I recently learned that koni also allow you to adjust perch levels when installing them......my question: how much of a diff between each level is there..ie. .25"? also, would koni yellows, set on lowest perch + eibach prokits be the same drop as koni yellows + h&R sports? If so, what do you guys think is a better combo?.......
BTW I recently had a chance to test out various integras on various suspension setups, I have to say the koni and h&R combo felt unbelievable! I never felt a better handling ride, it was stiff (ie. sporty) but not harsh or uncomortable...so imo koni's are worth every penny. but I heard eibach are better than H&R's...and want to go with the prokits but I think the drop is just to little???

just in case I wasn't clear in my post, what I wanna know is:
do koni yellows set on lowest perch + eibach prokit springs..give you the same drop as koni yellows set on middle (stock) perch + h&R sport springs......

I have Koni Yellows and Eibach sportlines... when I first installed them I put it on the lowest spring perches and found out that 1) I couldnt make it up the driveway at my own house anymore 2) it scrapes everywhere in the areas I live/drive (residential/speed bumps)... so I raised it back up to the stock perch setting.. it looks great on the lower perch setting.. but isn't very driveable.. at least not w/ all the speed bumps ...the pro-kits shouldn't be as low a drop as the sportlines though

Koni Yellows only give a limited range of height adjustment. Either stock or a full 1" lower in front, and stock, 5/8" higher, or 5/8" lower in back. Neuspeed Koni shocks give you extra slots so have a few more choices in between what Koni gives you. I have H&R Sport and regular Koni yellow shocks. When I first installed them, I went with the stock settings, but my car sat higher in back (2 finger gap in back, 1 in front). So a week later, I pulled the rear shocks and put the perch on the lowest setting. Now my car sits even. If I put the front shocks on the lower perch, it would be nearly 3" lower than stock, and I doubt I would be able to turn very much. Here's how mine looks now.
*edit* I recommend H&R Sport over Neuspeed Sport, junglistgsr on this site had Neuspeeds but recently switched his out for H&R's, he said they are alot better.

thanks patrick....the drop on your car looks perfect.
.exactly what I'm looking for. I had the opportunity to recently try various integra's with various suspension setups ie. ground control + tokico blue, neuspeed race +kyb, neuspeed sport + koni yellows..etc. and the neuspeed sport +koni combo was f#cking unbelievable
, the guy had his shocks on the stiffest setting and the handling and traction was beyond amazing....I didn't get to try the H&R sport +koni combo but I heard the H&R's are very similar but better than neuspeed sports ....... so thats the setup I'm going for....if anyone is selling used H&R sport spirngs let me know......
BTW I remember you from honda-acura.net......too bad the forum is down, it was by far the best one.....but it looks to be back up real soon......
take care, peace.

i have the koni yellows with neuspeed sport springs, i currently have the shock set at stock height, if i put it to the lowest setting my car would be undriveable, i would definately bottom out
Heres a question. I just wrote to Neuspeed to see what they recommended for shocks with their Sport springs. This is what they emailed me back:
This is different from what you guys are talking about. Are the Neuspeed/Konis different than just regular Konis? What about Comptech Konis? I'm confused...
I would recommend our NEUSPEED/Koni dampers. They feature five ride height adjustment grooves for the spring perch. They allow lowering or raising of the car at each corner to a maximum of + or - 0.25". This would allow you to corner balance the car for racing. In addition, they feature a 20mm shorter piston rod for additional compression travel on lowered vehicles which allows for better ride and handling.

Comptech does not make shocks, but they sell Koni sport shocks. They are the regular ones, just sold through Comptech. As for the perch adjustments, the front perches on regular Konis can be at either stock or 25mm (1") lower. Now on the Neuspeed Konis, they add 3 more slots, and I *think* they are all in between the 2 that Koni gives you (so you could be at stock, .25, .5, .75, or 1" lower). On the rear shocks, Koni allows for stock, 15mm lower, or 15mm higher. I believe Neuspeed adds 2 more slots in between those 3, so you have a slot for stock, plus 2 lower slots, and 2 higher slots. I don't think the Neuspeed Konis allow you to higher or lower than the regular ones, they just allow for a bit more fine tuning of the ride height.
the neuspeed koni's are the same price i believe.
i ordered some from neuspeed not too long ago.
a girl that works there called me and said the
shipment from holland and for it to go through
customs...well basically i won't be seeing them
till (at the earliest) july 3rd.
but it's worth the wait.
honestly i shoulda just saved up for coilovers.
still debating.
koni yellow's are like 525 for a set of four?
my H & R sport springs were 150.
for a lil more i coulda got some H & R stage
one coilovers from options auto salon for like
950.
or koni adjustable coils for a lil over a grand.
and this guy is selling his used koni coilovers
for 700.
sheeeeeeeyit.

Whatever the case, I would just use the stock perches.
Oh, and when I was buying shocks, Neuspeed quoted me $554 shipped on their Konis, and my regular Konis were $517 shipped from diabloautosports.com
i got the nuespeed koni, it has 5 perch setting, its wrap with h&r race spring,
the back are on the lowest setting, and the front are on the second to the lowest, on 16 bronze gt3
see pix, now i'm on 17 RH evo, its too low, (looks bad ***) the front are scraping the frame of the car when it bounce and cutting my tires, now its setting on the middle perch up front and second to the lowest in the rear..

this is absolutely correct.. i have the neuspeed koni's and all it does is give extra spots in between the regular spots... along with a few other small indifferences they're pretty much the same
i think neuspeeds have shortened rods also...
