Default CEL code 70... AT malfunction

my 99 civic is throwing a code for my auto transmission, a code 70. i understand that this is "Automatic Transmission Malfuntion with AT Controls". i've done a minime from a d16y7 to d16y8, running a y8 auto ecu, and have a knock sensor installed where one wasn't originally so i could get rid of that code 23. what can i do to fix this code 70 problem? whenever i go to check the DTC with the jumper wire, not only does my CEL flash, but my D4 light flashes as well. when im driving my i actually have to let off the gas slightly for it to shift, otherwise it will stay at the 3700 rpms or whatever and if it does shift it jerks. and i'm getting horrible gas mileage. help anyone?
