Shift Linkage Problem??
Ok so hear it is. Bought the car: 99 civic EX with JDM B16 in it. And the shifter is crazy SLOPPY... while in gear the shifter moves from side to side a few inches.
Figured it was the shifter bushings so I replaced both of them with Energy Suspension ones. Didnt FIX the problem.
So if anyone knows what else it could be.. maybe bad linkage or if there is something else I have missed to replace?

Im sure you checked the pin that runs threw the linkage on the actual tranny shifter pole. I had this same problem with my b16 hatch and it was because of this pin!

Re: Shift Linkage Problem?? (fmrprojects)
ok did not check the pin, because I didnt want to remove the whole linkage doing the bushings. So Ill prolly get a new one of those for the hell of it and put it in.
Also ill check the bolt to make sure its tightened.
Thanks. Anymore ideas... keep em coming

No problem, but you have pretty much coverd all the possiable problems, you said you replaced the bushings.... just check that pin and make sure everything is nice and snug and you should be good to go.
