car runs better without tps sensor; rpms stick when shifting
so i finally got around to replacing my broken tps sensor. My car ran fine without it and you would have never known it did not have a tps sensor. I mean absolutly no semptoms of not having a tps what so ever. So I take my car out with the new tps sensor, and everytime I shift my rpms will go up slightly and stick for a second before droping. So smooth shifting is impossible! I dunno where to start to fix the problem. I dunno if a vaccum leak would cause this or not? But other than that, the car acts fine. So i've just been driving with it unplugged again.
What your computer has done is input the signal based on other sensors values. The computer is basically looking at its history to establish what the tps sensor reading would be. Now when you put the new tps did you calibrate it? 0% and 100% throttle? If you did not do this try it again and then let it run for 2 weeks lets say and report back if it has not fixed the problem.
