OK, I have a 1995 Honda Civic SI as a daily driver. I believe it is lowered on ground control struts and springs? It has red springs with a white shock. Could someone please clear this up?
Now the thing is, it is mildly lowered. My friend gave me some TEIN STech springs, that I believe were made for a EG Civic, but he used them on his 95 Integra. It slammed his car hard! But the thing is they mildly lower on Civics. So since I got these for free I am thinking of cutting a coil or two down and mate them with the aftermarket shocks on my car and see if it is enough of a drop.
Am I looking at any negative side affects?
I searched the board, but found nothing on cutting aftermarket springs and mating them to a aftermarket strut.
Thanks!

Cuttong a spring is always a bad idea because you can never do it exact enough to get all the greatly effected springrates to match.
Cutting any metal off of a spring changes tensil strength throughout the spring, thus affecting springrate.
Ground control if the best spring/coilover steup you're going to get. Don't change it.
A white shock could be dropzone shocks or tokico illuminas. If they're adjustable at the top they're Illuminas.

there will be a **** at the top of the shock tower if they are adjustable.
Also the name will be written in big red letters in the side of each shock assembly.

Yea, Ill check the strut towers tomorrow.
When I had my wheel off I didn't notice drop zone written on it. But I will have a closer look next time I do.
I hate buying modified cars because of things like this haha.

Don't cut them, you will be ruining a perfectly good spring.
Sell it and get something else. If you are just going for the cheap slammed look and you don't really care about knowing what your springrates are or really about serious performance, just get some cheap ebay coilovers.

You really want to buy two cut tein springs?
I don't think they're worth anything. In my book cut springs have about the same value as ebay coilovers.
Ebay coilovers can and will break.
Buy some used springs. If you need to be slammed pick up some used H&R race or neuspeed race springs. They can be fround for under $100.

tein s.techs with kyb agx. 205-50's I love the ride. If you plan on doing some road racing or anyhting liek that then you are going to want h&r or eibach. these springs are mainly for apearance and ride quality.

tein s springs concentrate on ride and appearence.
they are great springs - i have them on my ek - very soft and stock like feel but when cornerning they take like rails.
if you want to slam your car go with gc/kyb set up.
i have a set of kyb gr2 w/ tein s springs --
