Default Suspension

Please no flames from the AutoXer's/RR's. What is the best setup to lower the car about 2 inches, maybe 1.5 and be setup for street fun and the drag strip. Mostly just want the benefits of a better launch, however, i dont want to lose any handling performance... stock handling is just good enough....

Thanks,
Jon

H&R springs or Spoon. I've seen the drop of both and they both look very nice without any detremental effects on handling.

A few questions...

#1 - Isn't it bad to run just springs... i thought that messes something on the suspension up down the line.

#2 - I AM not looking to gain any handling performance (the suspension is already perfect for that), however... I DO want to get a suspension that will help me with my launching for drag.. i heard suspension could make quite a difference when dragging...

#3 - How much of a drop do the Spoon/H&R Sport springs lower the car? how many inches?

Thanks,
Jon

#1- I reccommended the H&R's and the Spoons b/c they were both designed to slightly lower the car with the use of the stock ITR shocks. The lower stance of the car will help your launch a little but not as much as tires will. You could have 1400lb. springs in the back but if your tires aren't gripping, that's useless. If you're going to be dragging the car, buy some slicks/drag radials and some motor mount inserts to control wheel hop- those two this will be a much bigger help than any suspension upgrades you can make. Just my honest opinion.

#2- see #1

#3- they both lower the car between 1.5" and 1.75" if I remember correctly.

Spoon springs are the way to go. They were designed to work with the stock shocks. They will give your car a nice drop. Since you want to launch better at the dragstrip, I would suggest some slicks and the Z10 Engineering radius bar.
Do a search about the radius bar, the bar will virtually eliminate wheel hop.
Here's Z10's site: http://www.z10eng.com/index2.htm

Is that Z10 Radius Bar the thing I see draggers using to prevent them from doing wheelies (the thing that hangs off of the back)... I am a little confused about this piece. I looked at the site, and I couldn't find what it was... where does it go?

Could someone also help me find out some things about the springs....

Spoon Springs-

How much of a drop?
How much do they cost?

H&R Springs-

How much of a drop?
How much do they cost?

What motor mount inserts are recommended?
How much do they cost?

Thanks for the help,
Jon

I dont think there is any springs(non-adjustable) out there that will lower the ITR 1.5"-2" more. If you want it slammed to the ground that much you will need some adjustable coilover kit. Ground Control, Skunk2, etc...
