I want to paint my car a pearl black color, would there be any problems with painting my car by parts (EG)...[tailgate, roof, door('s), hood, fenders. bumper, and the rest of rear part] the reason for this is that it is a little more affordable, cause i buy my paint clear... and do at my own pace.
now will there be a tone difference with the color black.

i think it would not be a good idea to do it that way if you're going to take your time. i'm saying this because, lets say, you paint the fenders and hood this week. then wait 2 weeks and paint the doors etc, if you didnt mix the paint to match the initial paint job (like the fenders and hood), they won't match.
i would say its a good idea to do it all at once, that way with theres natural overspray blending in possible different shades..

i believe the OP is talking about painting his car in different sections. Would this effect the tone and outcome of his paint job?
My answer: if done correctly; no.
But why would you want to do that? I'd rather paint the whole car at once, it's not like it would make the job much harder or easier.
example on why painting sections of cars workout.
Say you get into a fender bender, your bumper and fender is damage. The body shop would repair those and just paint them. They would somehow match the rest of your car. Wet sanding and buffing would change the appearance of the paint too.

yeah, they match by overspraying non-accident parts so the color blends. happend to my friend's car like 4 times lmao. if you paint it at once, you get that natural effect and everything blends

i agree it is alot easier to paint the whole car at once..less time masking the car..less tape and masking paper used..also in the end if u paint part by part ur going to be using up more paint by mixing paint for everytime u paint

for doing the work yourself..i did it myself made some mistakes since it was my 1st time doing body work but it brings a smile to my face when ppl compliment my paint and that it cost as much as a maaco job less than 350$ check my sig
