the past month my car has been accelerating really slowly. About two weeks ago, my car was throwing a engine code, and I immediately replaced the Cat and the code went away. The slow acceleration can really be felt going up hills that i would normally just go up easily before. Today, I changed the spark plugs and it didn't make any difference. The wires, along with the last set of spark plugs were changed around 10 thousand miles ago. I highly doubt it is the cap and rotor. I remember before this problem I smelled a bad smell coming from the engine bay while driving. The slow acceleration is really noticeable in 3rd gear, immediately when I shift to 3rd and hit the gas, it accelerates really slow. No matter if I floor it or just tap the gas, it still accelerates at the same rate!

 

how does your clutch feel?

 

my clutch grabs fine, it doesn't slip.

 

does it sput or studder at all?

 

it doesn't do this either, I can't figure if its a tranny problem or an electrical problem
