Installed SP Fab traction bar today, what do I tell the alignment shop?
I installed SP Fab traction bar today. I adjusted the radius rods to give it some tension but not much. Test drove it and had no difference in the alignment as far as toe in/out goes. It drives straight, does not pull to either side. Launched it once to see if my wheel hop issue was still there, but nope no more wheel hop. First time I've had/dealt with traction bars, so I'm a noob when it comes to this. My question is, what am I suppose to tell the alignment shop? I'm assuming they have to adjust the caster? Is there a specific range I want it align'd to? Thanks for any info in advance.
The traction bars offer caster adjustment by pulling the UCA forward. This isn't a good idea. I would only use them to put slight tension on the LCA and keep the wheels planted as you've already done. If you go get an alignment, you don't need to tell them to mess with the caster adjustment. Just get the toe settings worked on and tell them not to touch caster (unless you really want them to)...
PS: Even though the car drives straight, the toe might still be messed up. You should at least get it checked to make sure the tires are still straight...
