axle removal
as of right now the fork is removed completly from the strut and LCA, the bolt where the LCA is connected to the chasis is removed. I tried using a hammer to bang out the LCA from the castle nut bolt but no progess. Any recommendations? Also I noticed that there is another diagnal piece thats running from the front of the car, i think the cross member, to the LCA. Should I remove the bolts where that is connected to the LCA? im pretty sure its called a tie-rod.
I use a hammer and just hit the crap out of the lca till the hub pops up. theres a thread on here somewhere that shows you a different way but I cant find. and ways if you are gonna smack it leave the castle nut on I made the mistake of hitting the and missing thus ******* up a ball joint
yes... leave the nut on.. loose not tight... then jack up the whole knockle by putting the jack on the rotor, not where the vents are, and not on the caliper, but right on the rotor hub, not on the studs either... on the hub of the rotor.. and jack it up to about say, inmagine if the rim were still on the car, it would be at stock height.. and turn the steering wheel to opposite side.. if working on left turn to right, if working on right turn to left.. and then just hit it hard a couple of times, leave enough space to where you know if it were to drop you could tell, by not putting the castle nut on all the way, when it drops, the castle nut will stop it.. hope that helps.. when that is done, do not pull on the axle or you'll pop it out, you have to pry it out with a pry bar from the tranny.. good luck..
