Default Tranny will not go into gear!!..Help...

Ok guys..I recently did a swap in my 93 civic hatch..I replaced the single cam with an LS...Both trannys are hydro..the thing is..I bought a new throw out bearing for the Ls...but I ended up using the same fork off of my single cam tranny..Don't know if it really affects or not but it will not go into any gear at all..When the car is on..it does not make any noise what so ever and it seems fine...no weird noises coming from the tranny..however..the clutch is all the way in and I push to put it in first and will not go in..but notice how the car starts moving slowly forward..not into gear yet..that means the clutch is just waiting to grab..but just wont go in...any help with this matter?..I imagine that the fork is not appropriate for this setup but not too familiar with this..If I buy the Ls fork will it go in?..I already bled the clutch lines and nothing..Ohh..and as soon as I shut the car off..the gears go in..there is no movement of coarse..but they go in fine when its off..I'm lost here..anyhelp?..thanx..

I had the same problem when i fried my clutch disc. It was melted to the pressure plate, meaning it was not disengaging. So I am not positive but I dont think that you clutch disc is disengaging from the flywheel. Were the forks the same size? Or did you not check?

I never had an Ls fork..when i bought the tranny it did not come with the throw out bearing nor the fork..I am aware of the motor being fine and the tranny as well..I saw the car working perfect a week before I bought the complete swap..I just used my single cam fork..the pressure plate and clutch are fine..I checked..Dunno..If the pressure plate were to be messed up wouldn't it make a loud grinding noise?..Like i said ..don't really know about this..any other suggestions?..

does the car go into gear when you turn the car off. if it does th problem is in you clutch and you might need to get the right fork. why would you not get the right fork to begin with, that is a lot of wokr to pull the tranny on a "i hope it works"

when i turn the car off the gears go in..and i did some research and actually went to a salvage yard..the single cam fork and the integra fork are exactly the same....
So you think the pressure plate might be bad?
What would cause the pressure plate to go bad if the car was working fine..pulled the motor and tranny put it in my car and then gave it a try..why would it all of a sudden go bad?...

how did you bot on the trans was there a gap then you used the bolts to pull it flush to the block. Or did you get it flush with the motor then bolt it down.

your clutch is not releasing, if the tranny was bad it won't go into gears PERIOD. since it goes in gears when the car is off that means the clutch isn't disengaging, basically when you hit the clutch, the disc is still connecting to the flywheel, which doesn't allow the tranny to slo down, which doesn't mean its the pressure plate, did you bleed the system correctly, did you adjust the engagement, also does it grind at all when you try to put it in
