Ok and you are expecting a stock b16 to make any power past 8000? The reason the revs start to slow down up there is because there is no power. My sir2 b16 with stock cams stopped making power around 7600. So I will say this to you buddy, stop reving the engine to 8800 because it is pointless!!!

Get rid of the MSD and that band-aid chip right away.

Your stock ignition system will actually work better and give you less hassles then that coil pack, unless you're making like 800hp, which i seriously doubt becuase you actually thought an ebay chip would help your stock engine out.

Those chips don't add horsepower, they just use a sky high rev-limit and dump a whole shitload of extra fuel. You'd be way safer and better off to just get it tuned. By the way, the reason it doesn't pull much after 8000, is because the OBD1 B16 makes peak hp at 7800 rpm, and is supposed to rev-limit at 8200.
