Default my dash RATTLES! when i hit the gas

ok so its an 96 coupe auto HX with a cvt tranny ,(daily driver) anyways everytime i hit the gas it feels like the motor and my dash rattles... whats the deal? i checked my motor mounts, they seem ok, i know that one of the seals on the left cv joint is busted and i have all of that lubricant splattered on the engine bay, maybe thats why the all the rattle, i think the tranny is slippin or somethin, thanks for the help guys

open the hood
push the throttle
see if your motor is moving.

Have you ever tampered with your dash or any parts on it? You may have dropped a screw accidentally or not tightened something good enough and it came loose after a while and is just vibrating around.

Get someone else to rev the car slowly while you poke your head in various places and listen carefully.

nah, the dash rattles only when the car is in drive if its in park it revs up nicely no probs wutso ever

yep sounds like ur clutch or flywheel is really uneven or did u just put a new one in and didnt break it in right.

its an auto tranny, its a cvt,an hx vtec-e. are they known for goin bad? i kinda drive the car like its stolen..eh

have u be neutralBombing it??? i would that the only way 2 really mess up an auto tranny or have u been throwing it like D2 THEN punching it or anything like that

neutral bombing? as in neutral...rev4...5k pop drive in? i dont have D2 i have an "S" for sport? hah well if thats neutral bombing then yes, this other guy said to add GM syncromesh? wtf why GM? i would think oem honda tranny fluid, not to mention i also heard that these cvt trannys use a special type of tranny fluid

Don't listen to people telling you to use GM syncromesh fluid. Your CVT REQUIRES the special Honda CVT fluid.

Why would you do that to the poor tranny I REALLY hope you dont do this too often. If yes, consider buying a 5spd car next time.
