92 si problemo
ok this all happened about 2 months ago and im resolving these issues now but im still havin problems, read on
so anyhow bout 2 months ago i was on interstate cruisin bout 80 and my oil light flashes, i pull in the nearest gas station (about 1 mile) and i check oil...im 2 quarts low..put 2 quarts in and ride it home slow .. so far so good riding with no oil light.. bout 5 minutes down the road it starts making this loud clicking noise so i shift to 5th an ride it home maybe 2 miles @ 20mph and the oil light flashed once again...anyhow car sits for 2 weeks, and my buddy tows it to his house and works on it...come to find out my valves need to be adjusted cause they were so loose and my bud found metal flakes in the oil and suspects spun bearings...we tear the bottom end down and find out all my bearings *main and rod* are spun, some worse than others, we also noticed that when we were taking the bolts out for the bearings we could smell burnt oil and the oil would drain out dark as night, luckily i didnt damage my crank or block supposedly...anyhow, we replace all bearings, adjust valves, put it back together and start it up...well the racket is gone mostly, but it still has a slight clicking when accelerating between 2k-4krpm..my bud says the noise sounds like its coming from the top end, and suspects my oil pump isn't delivering enough pressure to the hydraulic lifters in the head..my head is relatively new *less than 100k miles* anyhow, im just posting on here to get a second opinion *i trust his judgement on cars since hes been messing with them nearly his whole life* but i think this is his first prelude to work on...anyhow thanks to anyone who reads this novel lol

Overall a good post, nice detail. But... "hydraulic lifters"? I thought these were overhead cam engines? I know piston slap can cause noise on some cool engines. Anyway...bump for you.
Dont expletive around with the life of your motor, hook up in in car pressure guage and see if your pressure is correct. sounds to me like we are bandage-ing up a tired motor no?
The 2 qts you were low had to go somewhere. must have been blow by. I would still check pressure, but if its good, which I suspect, you have already killed your head.
you may have loose cam bearing ( which means a new head) due to bad bearings which restricts flow to the head and other parts.
good luck. but 1st is 1st make sure you got oil!!
