Default white smoke??????

i have a 1998 honda civic ex and is trowing out white smoke out the exhaust, also when i started it revs to 1700 rpms and then goes normal. Looks like a simple problem.

dont see any but how would i check that, ok is white smoke coolant or oil.

just wondering because if u see coolant coming from the front of the head, then it means head gasket

white smoke is coolant, blueish/purple/black is oil

This is true. You'll want to test to make sure your headgasket isn't toast.

when I took off my head to replace my head gasket, this is what I found


And this is what happens when you wait too long!



My poor civic :disappoin

That was when I had my D15B7 in there.... The picture below is a pic I took 2 days ago. I am parting out the engine. This is what your oil will look like if you wait too long (Coolant mixed with oil -Right side)






Gosh I keep editing this post just to add more pics and help you out as much as I could.

Looks just like the S10 that started up at the gas pump the other day.

Dayum. And boy does that white smoke smell terrible...

Yes.. it really does... You know when someone farts in a bedroom or elevator, the smell stays for a while? Same was happening with this burnt coolant. Smoke was long gone and it still smelled like it all over (and this is outdoors in my driveway!)
