Can to much oil mess up your motor?

Default Can to much oil mess up your motor?
My gsr has a bad oil leak and i acidentally put too much oil in the car because i thought it had less then it did but now ever since i put all that oil in it, it seems to missfire is that normal?

it will damage the engine just leave it at that before things get to complicated. why do u think they put max and min lines on a engine oil dipstick? there must be a reason....

how far over? A 1/2 qt wont do anything, but more than that you run the risk of blowing out seals.
