Before boosting my gsr i'm going to rebuild the motor and "freshen" it up a bit. I feel comfortable pulling the motor myself and pulling the head off the block but when it comes to block work i feel very intimidated. Anyone have any suggestions as to where i can take the block once i have it out? All i'm looking for is installation of new rod bearings, new pistion rings, maybe a rebalance of everything, and a fresh hone.

How close are you to Illinois, there are plenty of good/reputable shops in the chicagoland area.
