i was calling around today for a motor for my car and one place told me they hada 1.6 fuel injected outta a civic si does thake make any sense to any one ? if so will it be a directed replacemnt for my d16z6???

well... What year engine and out of which car...
And yes they do make a Fuel injected 1.6L, actually all honda's after 1990 were fuel injected...(correct me if I'm wrong lol... If it was made previous to 1992 idk D16a1, Zc.. but most likely it is a D16z6(92-95) or it could be a D16y*(95-00).. anyways get some more info about it. If your looking for a direct replacement for your D16z6.. make sure its OBD1 and it will make the swap alot easier.


Start asking for the engine code to be safe from now on. I won't flame you, because I'm geussing your knowledge about cars or atleast engines in particular is limited and everyone needs to learn at some point. But be careful of posts like that because you will get reamed...

 

okay thank you i knew it seemed retard the question but it was all the info the french women gave me at the scrap yard cause i asked for a 1.6L vtec and all she could tell me was that it was fuel injected sorry to make everyone get all upset. now how can i tell if its a obd1 ?

 

Any engine pre-96 is obd1. (actually the change between obd1 and obd2 happened mid 95, so a handful of 95's are obd2)

 

if i were you i would just look for a d16z6 cause in my opinion that would be the best motor for you. i would say y8 but that's obd2 and you don't seem that knowledgeable about motor's

Yes, your car is fuel injected.

 

You need a d16z6. This is going to be plug and play. Anything else will require different ecu and harness. If you are looking for someone else to make up your mind for you, then there you go. If you already have a spare z6 then this is a moot point. Use it.

 

correction to be made... i have a ZC (JDM) in my car and after doing countless research i found that most of these came out of honda integras and there is 2 models, a carb and a fuel injected... for example mine was carb in japan but when it was swaped into my car it was converted to fuel injectors, as for the vtec ones though, only fuel injected
